Most people have the legal right to opt out of data broker databases. In practice, though, that process is scattered across hundreds of sites and forms, which makes it hard to do on your own.
Data brokers are companies that collect, package, and sell personal information about people, often without their knowledge or consent.
Brokers bury the opt-out process on purpose. Auditing them one at a time isn't reasonable for one person, so that's the work Scrappy Kin takes on. We send brokers the same email the app prepares and record what comes back — which honor a plain email request, which push into portals or ID checks, which ignore it. Only the first group makes the list. It's short on purpose: every email is one more company seeing your information.
